The late, Bro. Aaron Day, Sr., along with a few other faithful Christians stepped out on faith & began meeting at the Holiday Inn off of Interstate 35 in DeSoto. Much to Bro. Day’s surprise, there was over 60 members in attendance that Sunday morning.
In 1982 the Cliff View Church of Christ was organized. Bro. Day served as the only senior minister of Cliff View until his call to glory on December 2nd, 2002. Under his great leadership & guidance Cliff View was blessed to achieve many spiritual & community accomplishments. Listed below are just a few:
In 1984, (just two years later) the congregation constructed a $342,000 worship facility.
In 1986, the congregation constructed a $170,000 in additional classrooms, offices, kitchen and daycare facilities.
In 1993 the main sanctuary was expanded to accommodate a membership of 600.
1995, a $700,000 Family Life Center was built…it consist of a full size gym, 25 classrooms and office space.
1996, a dedication service was held for the new Cliff View Senior Citizen Village, Phase I.
1999 – 2000, the completion of the Cliff View Senior Citizen Villages, Phase II
Cliff View was one of the first churches of Christ to have a Christian Academy, which provides safe, healthy Christian atmosphere for grades K – 5th with an approximate enrollment 100
On August 1st, Cliff View began the selection process of reviewing candidates qualified for Elders and Deacons.
December 2003 – September 2004 Bro. Henry Clay Williams served as Senior Minister of the Cliff View Church of Christ.
2004 – August 5th, the vision of Bro. Aaron Day, Sr., continues with the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Cliff View Senior Citizen Village, Phase III.
2005 – January the congregation officially accepted review of 9 brothers desiring possible Eldership and/or Deaconship roles.
2005 – February the Cliff View Senior Citizen Village, Phase III was approved for occupancy.
To Date – the Cliff View church of Christ has approximately 275 members with over 10 active ministries.
