"You Can't Stop This!"

The apostle Paul penned to the people of God at Philippi in Philippians 1:12, “But I would ye should understand brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel.” Paul was in jail for Jesus. He was on lockdown for the Lord. Here is a perfect example of being oppressed for being obedient. Paul was incarcerated because he preached and defended the gospel of Jesus Christ. The enemies placed him under house arrest to stop the preaching of the gospel of Christ; however, the message of the gospel was not hindered, but furthered. It is amazing how God can take what was meant for evil to work for His ultimate good and glory.

We must get to the point in our Christian journey to know that adversities are the agents of advancement. The devil will use troubles to trample us, whereas God, our Heavenly Father, will use these same troubles to transport us to a greater level of living. In essence, the enemy became the employee to help further the gospel of Jesus Christ. In other words, “You can’t stop this!” Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 13:8, “For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.”

As children of God, we must embrace the inescapable truth that pain is a part of the process that leads to progress and productivity. It is the presence of the Lord in the midst of this process that makes all the difference. So, the next time you go through a great trial in life, tell the devil, “You Can’t Stop This!!!”
