  “Jehovah-Jireh”

         In Genesis 22, we are confronted with the test that God gave to Abraham to offer up Isaac, the son of promise. Isaac was the seed Abraham was blessed with in his old age. This test was a test of faith. In humble obedience Abraham heeded the voice of God and took his son to the heights of Mt. Moriah. Seeing the wood and the fire, Isaac desired to know where the ram was for the burnt offering. Abraham’s response was “God will provide…” These are powerful words when will are faced with times of uncertainty. To know that the provision of God is available to the child of God should give us unwavering confidence in the face of calamity. After the ram was sacrificed in the stead of Isaac, the name of the place called Jehovah-Jireh. This name of God speaks to the provisions of God. These provisions are manifested at the exact time we need them to be. I am quite sure Jehovah-Jireh has revealed himself time and time again in your life. You ought to take this time right now to pause and thank God for being your Provider. It doesn’t matter what you go through, the God of heaven always comes through. Let’s praise him with the praise that he is due.
